Position Summary
Well established, award-winning home builder located in Northern Colorado is seeking a skilled and motivated Architectural Designer to join our team. This position will have a key role in the development of products for various communities. It requires attention to detail, exceptional organizational abilities, refined communication skills, and the determination to learn, grow and develop along with our dynamic team.
The Opportunity and Scope
The Architectural Designer is responsible for all plans and plan related documents for the homebuilding operations of Baessler Homes. This includes but is not limited to creating & maintaining plan sets in CAD, Revit, or Chief Architect, managing relationships with external consultants, and providing all documents necessary for permit requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Development of efficient and affordable single-family and multi-family architectural plans for our various communities
- Production and maintenance of working drawings using AutoCAD, Revit or Chief Architect software platforms.
- Ensures that all architectural plans are compliant with the codes and requirements specified by the permitting authority in various communities
- Act as primary point of contact with outside consultants (Civil-Soils, Structural, MEP, Energy, Fire Sprinkler, Etc.)
- Review development and architectural codes and verify design compliance.
- Ensure all architectural, structural, site, and mechanical plans are accurate and up to date
- Ensure all plan changes are up to date
- Manage the plan change log and process
- Assist the construction team in plan related questions or issues
Critical Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Environmental Design, Interior Design, Engineering, or a closely related field. Or an applied technical/Associate’s degree in Architectural design.
- 4 or more years of working knowledge of residential plans and construction drawings
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or Chief Architect required
- Advance level knowledge of materials and methods, project detailing and construction used in the preparation of construction documents for residential homes.
- Demonstrates clear verbal and written communication
- Must be well organized and a self-starter
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills
- Analyzes problems and makes sounds decisions in a timely manner based on objective, risks, implications, and costs.
- Ability to perform mathematical computations, such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately
- Tactful and mature demeanor with well developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse personalities
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Physical Requirements
Requires the following:
- Ability to occasionally stand, walk, crawl, climb, reach, bend, kneel, balance, stoop, or sit up for more than eight hours a day.
- Use of hands to feel or reach objects, mouse, and type on computer.
- Ability to move about office space and undeveloped land.
- Hearing and talking with multiple people during or most of the entire workday.
- The use of varying vision abilities such as close vision, peripheral, depth and in adjusting focus.
- Be able to lift and carry items of up to 30 pounds.
- Being able to tolerate temperature-controlled environment and outdoor environment with varying temperatures.
- Typical noises in the office space.
- Vision for near, mid-range, far and accommodation. Hearing for low, medium, and high pitch.
- Must have current and valid driver’s license and must be able to be insured by company fleet insurance.
- Being able to move around in the work area independently or without external help.
Work Schedule
- 40- 45 hours per week (8am-5pm, M-F)
- After hours and weekends may be necessary on occasion for trips, events, or to meet deadlines.
- Lunch meeting and events outside of the normal working hours are required by the position.
- Occasional travel for educational growth and development or community locations is required.

Total Compensation Pay Range: $75,000-$100,000 Base Salary + Monthly Profit-Sharing Bonus Structure
