What it's Like to Live in Fort Lupton, CO!

Fort Lupton is one of the most ideal locations in Colorado to call home! We have put a list together of what it is actually like to live in this growing town and the many reasons why it is so great! 

Location:

Conveniently located near highway 85 and I-25, Fort Lupton is a short drive from North Denver and Denver International Airport. The town also sits a little over an hour to Eldora Ski resort and Rocky Mountain National Park

Close-Knit Community:

The City of Fort Lupton hosts several events that bring together the residents, businesses, and visitors! Some of these include the city-wide yard sale, clean-up days, Easter egg hunt,5ks, 4th of July Celebration, National Night Out, Trapper Days Festival, Winterfest, and so much more!

Schools:

Located within Fort Lupton is 8 preschools, 2 elementary schools, 1 middle school, 1 high school and is part of the Weld Re-8 school district. 

Restaurants:

Denver Ave. is home to many of the great restaurants that the town of Fort Lupton has to offer. Here are some just to name a few:

Local Recreation:

With an ideal location, comes great local recreation! 

Coyote Creek Golf Course -18 stunning holes, pleasantly challenging and beautiful views. Only a few minutes away from our new community. 

Fort Lupton Rec Center – This recreation center includes:

1. 4,060-square-foot, zero-depth-entry leisure pool with an underwater jet bench, lazy river, lap lanes, 139-foot water slide with four turns, frog slide, vortex pool, hot tub and pool party room
2. Teen center with sitting area, foosball, pool table, and big-screen TV
3. 27-foot rock-climbing spiral with four custom-designed routes
4. Elevated, 1/14 mile, two-lane running track circling the gymnasium and fitness rooms with same synthetic surface used in Olympic competition
5. 3,600-square-foot aerobics center with circuit and free-weight equipment as well as a cardio theater
6. 1,250-square-foot aerobics room for fitness, pilates, yoga, karate, gymnastics, and other classes
7. Additional 850-square-foot cardio balcony with 10 spinning bikes
   

Pearson Park -Amenities include baseball & softball fields, bikes trails, walking paths, and an elevated area offering amazing panoramic views of Fort Lupton. Set along the scenic shores of the South Platte River and is a bird watcher’s hot spot. 

Railroad Park - nearly nine acres that include open spaces and a number of sports amenities like baseball and softball fields, basketball, and volleyball courts. There are even a few horseshoe tossing pits for those who prefer low-intensity activities. 

The Dougherty Museum - in Longmont, This museum features an impressive collection of historic and antique cars, most of which have been restored to running and near-original condition. 

Barr Lake State Park- 23 min drive from Fort Lupton, The park totals nearly 3,000 acres and has been a favorite destination for outdoorsy types since it was founded in the mid-‘70s. There are more than a dozen miles of trails that wind their way by the lake’s shore as well as to the park’s inland areas. According to diehard amateur ornithologists, there are more than 300 species of birds in the area. For anglers, the lake is full of perky game fish like rainbow trout, bass, and tiger muskies that grow as big as a man’s leg. 

Brighton Oasis Family Aquatic Park- 16 min drive from Fort Lupton, This park features include water slides, wave pools, a water basketball court, and a low-depth pool for those traveling with little ones. Though it was certainly designed with water-loving kids in mind, it’s got separate areas for adults to swim laps without being bombarded with splashes and screaming children. Non-water amenities include covered picnic areas, a climbing wall, and rentable rooms that are perfect for birthday parties. This park is closed from fall until spring, so check their open dates before making a special trip.
