Baessler announces winners of Community Builder Scholarship

August 16, 2016

Jamie, Sarah and Winners

Baessler Homes is pleased to announce the winners to our first annual Community Builder Scholarship. This scholarship is the first annual and has been set in motion by Jamie and Sarah Baessler to honor two students who have demonstrated dedication to their education and generosity in serving their community. One winner was chosen from our Homeowner base and the other from our Trade Partner base; the public at large was not eligible to apply. The winners for 2016 are Demi Ball and Hanna Johnson. We had the honor of taking these two students out to lunch to get to know them better and hear how they are making a difference in our community. Here are their stories: Demi Ball Demi Ball is going to be a freshman at Colorado State University and will be studying History and Biology. After CSU her plan is to go to medical school for neonatology, which is the case of newborns, especially the ill and premature, with an end goal of owning and working in an OB/GYN clinic, treating prenatal and postnatal patients. Her passion is around lending her knowledge of women’s health to help to women, who cannot pay for care, receive the attention they need because many women cannot afford the price to take care of their bodies; she would work her hardest to provide help for those women. Hanna Johnson Hanna Johnson is currently attending Colorado State University and is double majoring in Political Science and Human Dimensions of Natural Resources. Her passion lies in Public service and preserving national parks and hopes to work in her local city government or for the National Park’s Service. Hanna is very involved at CSU as the Director of Environmental Affairs and serves on various student committees such as the President’s Sustainability Committee, the Campus Bicycling Advisory Committee, and she is the chairwoman of the Alternative Transportation Advisory Committee which manages the contract between CSU and the city’s bus system, Transfort.

Our townhouse was more than just four walls; it was the backdrop of some of our most cherished life moments. It was where we celebrated our engagement, welcomed our first child, and built enough equity to take the exciting leap into a new Baessler home. Annie assisted us with purchasing our home in Ault and we knew we were in good hands when we learned she was handling the Liberty Draw neighborhood also. Her intuitive matchmaking skills helped us navigate our sale with ease. When we expressed interest in Liberty Draw, she knew a couple who was eager for a townhouse in Ault. Thanks to her connection, we sold our townhouse off-market and moved into our second Baessler home sooner than expected. Our new home in Liberty Draw is a fantastic next chapter, and we’re excited to see our neighborhood flourish. Here’s to many more years of creating lasting memories with our neighbors in this amazing community.
