Cozy Up Your Home For Fall

September 28, 2021

Hey there Pumpkin!

Summer is the long-awaited end to the heat that we just can’t wait for, but there’s just something that makes us crave the crisp fall air and cooler weather. It’s a shift in season that brings so much joy and anticipation. We get to cozy up, drink warm drinks and watch our surroundings literally change color. While everything changes around us, why not change colors in your home, too?

Here are some fun ways to bring fall indoors . . .

Pick a palette. Whether going for a neutral aesthetic or a colorful one, make sure that everything works well together. Fall is the perfect time to return to a simple color scheme and incorporate the natural browns back into our homes and phase out the greens we see all spring and summer.

When it comes to wreaths, we are accustomed to seeing them on front doors lining every street we drive down. Bring them inside! Hang a wreath on the mantle, credenza or over an antique window to add some of the fall leaf color that we adore. Pair it with some pumpkins and gourds for a neutral fall look.

Create a warm entryway with some florals and lanterns. Mums are a staple since they are a temporary plant that blooms in the fall and needs very little maintenance. Adding a bright yellow or burnt orange colored mum along with some darker toned accessories incorporates several fall colors in a way that is not overwhelming to you or guests.

>Cozy up with new textures in blankets and pillows. Fall is the perfect time to bring out all the chunky knit blankets and suede pillows. Incorporating a fall pallet with warmer tones can add a different layer of relaxation that invites us to slow down for a little extra downtime. Change out pillow covers for clay, amber and rust colors to keep the fall palette consistent.

Pumpkins, pumpkins . . . and more pumpkins! We can’t help ourselves, so indulge in everything pumpkin, after all, it only comes once a year. Set a handful in a bowl in the entry on a table, put some in lanterns on a table for the centerpiece, mantle or coffee table, lanterns are ideal for several locations, can be used year-round too! Add some texture variation by mixing gourds and pinecones in with the pumpkin décor.

Happy Fall Y’all!

Annie was awesome. She knows everything about the homes and was able to answer every question we threw at her and helped us in every way that we needed.
