Trade Partner Spotlight - Builders FirstSource

March 14, 2022

At Baessler Homes, we value our Trade Partners like they are family. We feel that our homebuyers should know our trades as well as we do! Meet Builders FirstSource.

Tell us about your specialized trade.

Doors & Millwork have changed drastically over the years as it has grown to be part of the design element in the homes we are building today.  When I started in the business there were very limited sizes and types of door profiles and trim profiles available, and now the offerings available are almost limitless with much more information needed than the general public cares to know.

How long have you been in the industry?

26 years.  I started while I was in high school for a small family owned lumber yard as they opened their door & millwork facility.  I then opened my own carpentry company with a single crew and trimmed production and custom homes until the housing market crashed in 2009.  I came back to work in the supply and have worked my way up into sales.

What do you like best about the industry and the homebuilding process?

There always more to learn.  This industry can bring up a young person to choose from many different trades and for the most part as long as they are willing to work hard and learn they will have an opportunity to be successful.

Name three words that describe your business.

Community, Honor, Innovation.

How long have you worked with Baessler Homes as one of our Trade Partners?

3 years

What do you love most about your job?

Helping people.  I always look forward to doing everything I can to help others build the best homes possible.

What led you to this career?

I got a job when I was young in a small lumber yard, then I worked through college digging foundations for small homes in Leadville where the is a bunch of cool history, and then I spent a summer in Alaska building a home for one of my family members.

What’s a work-related accomplishment that you’re really proud of?

Getting a sales position.  I worked in operations for many years with a few different companies and have found a great home where I have had some really good mentors to give me the support and opportunities needed to achieve my goals.

What’s one thing that surprised you about working with Baessler Homes?

Religion.  I grew up in a religious family and have been pleasantly surprise how Baessler has used religion as a base not only to serve their community but to grow their own team member’s talents.

What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute your success to, and why?

Honor.  I have always worked very hard to utilize all of the tools and our team to do what I say I am going to do.

What are you happiest doing when you are not working?

Outdoors.  We live in a great big world and there is always more to explore whether it is golfing or snowboarding in our state or traveling anywhere in the world.

What is the next place on your travel bucket list and why?

Canada.  I have been asked by one of my closest friends to join him in the world’s longest canoe race in northern Canada, and the race has now been postponed 3 times due to the COVID pandemic and other life events.

If you could spend the day with a business executive, who would it be and why?

Zig Ziglar or Warren Buffet.  I am not sure if Zig Ziglar would be considered a business executive but his motivation has always inspired me in the business world.  I have always respected that Warren Buffet has made a fortune, but still lives a modest lifestyle (driving and old car, eating McDonalds, giving to charity).

Do you have any special talents or hobbies?

An Important talent would be listening. I have always learned more by listening than talking.  As far as hobbies go, I would like to think I am pretty good at Snowboarding, golf, Disc Golf and backpacking.

What is your favorite book or movie?

Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer.  I knew a couple people that were on Everest during this expedition and many of my role models were depicted in this book.

Beach or mountains?

Mountains, but I love going to the beach as well.

Share a unique fact about yourself.

I hiked 42 of the 52 14er’s in Colorado before I graduated high school.

What’s one thing you’re learning now and why is it important?

How to be a parent and pass the value’s I have learned to the next generation.  I have a high schooler and elementary age children, and trying to raise them in today’s world with good values is much more challenging than I ever thought.  They are both great boys that make me proud every day.

What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?

The “Boots on the Ground” award from Baessler Homes has to be one of the highest honors I have received from work.

Which of the four seasons if your favorite?

Spring Time.  I love how everything feels like it is coming back to life.

5 Stars - Exceptional Experience! I recently purchased a home through Baessler and the entire experience was nothing short of outstanding. From the very beginning, the team was professional, responsive, and genuinely invested in helping me find the perfect home. They guided me through every step of the process with clarity and care, making what could have been a stressful journey feel smooth and exciting. Their attention to detail, market knowledge, and commitment to customer satisfaction truly set them apart. I felt supported, informed, and confident throughout the entire process. I couldn’t be happier with my new home, and I’m incredibly grateful to Jeremy Love for helping make it a reality. Highly recommend to anyone looking to buy a home!
